"Friends don't let friends fly Jetstar", so if that's what you mean then I can understand the choice of VA.

But if you do mean Jetconnect, it is arguably the best QF economy short-haul; it is certainly nothing to be avoided, and (like other QF short-haul) can sometimes be good value as an Avios redemption.
