The OP makes no reference to a separate ticket. And whether it is 1 ticket (however unlikely) or two is relevant to who will be responsible for doing it.

Unfortunately this is incorrect advice. The last airline is responsible for dealing with missing baggage. So if the baggage is interlined as you suggest then it will be EK that is responsible.
