There are 2 ways to know that’s it’s been waived.
1. Carrier surcharge is a line item on its own. It’s not in your breakdown.
2. If the carrier surcharge is there for a Y ticket it usually makes the taxes and fees high enough to make you question whether it’s just cheaper (read: a terrible redemption value) to buy the ticket for cash. $44 doesn’t makes me wonder if the cash fare is comparable; therefore it’s been waived.
