As CJKatl says ... it depends. For example, at a recent stay, I was on a master bill and didn't get any credit or elite recognition. Another time when master billed, they gave me a plat gift but didn't get points or credit. And while I don't book through concur, some folks on the board have said they have prepaid rates on concur with their company that don't earn points.

But, many of us earn tons of points on business travel. I suspect the majority of Marriott points might be earned by people traveling on business.
