I have a 9 hour layover in DXB next month, flying HKG-DXB-CPH on EK in business class (QF award). I am a Qantas FF Platinum member and was wondering which lounge would be the best to try and get some rest. I seem to recall the EK first lounge in terminal C having an area where one could try and get a snooze.

Alternatively, I could use the complementary chauffeur service to get to a hotel in the city, but it hardly seems worth it for just a few hours. I am a UK and Australian citizen.

What do you think?
Hi Grace,

I think this depends on how you sleep in J on flights. All of the T3 F lounges have quiet/sleep zones, but they are not going to provide the same comfort as a hotel room. IME, the F lounge at A has the best quiet zone. The one at B is not bad but a bit run down. I haven't used the one at C, but it is a quiet lounge anyway so I imagine it would be ok.

I think there is no substitute for sleeping in a proper bed. For that itinerary, I'd probably book in to the Millennium Hotel at the airport and take a CD car there. It will cost you around A$200 for a room for the night. If you don't want to leave because it takes up time you could spend resting, just book in to the Airport hotel. It is actually a great place to get some rest.
