Yep I've got Android Nougat (and the Amazon b@stardised version on a fire tablet) and can do everything I posted which is fine for that phone. I just find it odd that IOS can't natively and that there are no apps to allow this.
I asked in the local Apple shop and they confirmed that you can't block access to specific IP addresses or view all network activity. I said if I jailbroke the phone then I could do that with an app from the Cydia store so it's not impossible. They said they didn't think there were any apps to do this because of Apple policy and suggested that I send feedback if unhappy.
