American Express Membership Rewards/Frontier Airlines
I looked through the previous American Express threads but didn't see where my question has been discussed, so I'm starting a new thread. I'm new at both this website and Frequent Flyer Programs so please forgive me if this has been discussed in detail.
I am getting married in September and have been charging everything under the sun to my American Express to accumulate Membership Rewards points for our honeymoon cruise which leaves from California and docks in Florida.
On the Membership Rewards site, I located a Frontier Airline Companion Ticket for $99 for 6,000 MR points. I have well over 6,000 points.
When I called Frontier to book a one way flight from Ft Lauderdale to Idaho and then a Companion Ticket for $99 (and then would transfer the MR points) I was told that 1) to use a companion ticket, the regular fare had to be over $350 and 2) the flight has to be round trip.
No where on either website (Membership Rewards or Frontier) have these terms and conditions. Both just say that the Companion Ticket flyer must travel with the regular fare traveler.
When I called both Frontier and American Express they both still just state the terms and will not budge, but I think that if the two terms are not stated on the websites that I should be able to use the points and fly with the Companion Ticket.
I've asked to speak with management only to be put on hold and then my number taken for them to call me back. And of course, no one calls back.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Sue
