My experience is that even if you have the weight allowance, the 23 kgs limit per bag will be quite strictly enforced. We are both PE and therefore are entitled to 2 x 2 x 23 kgs when we fly in Y within Europe. Bringing just one bag of 26 kgs can still cause them to ask you to reduce the weight or to split it over 2 bags....

Especially at AMS this seems a point - the agents often tell us they get checked and reprimanded if they do not strictly enforce this.

So indeed, bring an extra piece with lower weight per piece.

I don't think checking thru to DEL should be the issue then.
