Regarding PEK, I am not sure if many have transited there recently. It was horrible and definitely avoid and I had been one of many who voted against it. However, I was surprised it got better recently and I have found it quite doable now. Unfortunately it was so bad that It will take a long time for any one to venture there again. I am doing BKK via PEK next month and have no problem dealing with it now. One hour is still tight, though.
I went through PEK T3 in November. It look almost 90 minutes, an hour of which was the security screening. Would avoid.
