Wondering if that is the best value for my survey time? Any better rates than approx $400 e-rewards resulting in one night at a low-to-mid-range hotel room?
it is so YMMV that there is no real answer.
Do you only have 1 account? Are most of your redemption options hotels? I personally think IHG Accor Choice and La Quinta are pretty poor options, IHG used to be great - when they counted as elite qualifying.
other thing to consider about La Quinta - Wyndham bought them. I am assuming one day La Quinta points will become Wyndham points- if everything stays the same (15K any property)- this could be a lucrative conversion. Or maybe La Quinta will always stay La Quinta.
is there any precedent of Wyndham purchasing a chain and merging loyalty programs ? Maybe La Quinta is too big a program to merge ...? I’ve clearly been thinking about this one too much
If your rewards are primarily hotels, I am assuming you should have at least 1 airline redemption. I normally redeem for airline miles .. for my 2,000 mile Alaska Airlines redemption I put that at about $50 in value ...however ...
by far without a doubt in my mind I believe Hertz is the most valuable redemption. $120> 1,100 Hertz. I frequently need to rent a car between upstate NY and drop off in DC/ NYC. This one way 24 hour redemption easily costs $300 when paying cash at Hertz!!!
that might be an extreme example, but even weekly car rentals with Hertz points (3,300 points) can provide an outsized value for your e-rewards dollars ...
Hertz redemptions are once per quarter (1 day left, before you can make your Q2 April 1)... but with Hertz you can freely transfer points between you and your spouse, but you’ll have to call
