I'm in early stages of planning a DONEx for later in 2018 or in early 2019 and I'd appreciate if you helped me clear some points.
The wiki says:
On two class US domestic flights ..., if you hold a D class ticket you can book into the A (first) inventory, if it is available, at no extra charge.
Is this still so? I thought with the realignment of booking codes on AA we can no longer fly in A and get F class TPs in BAEC? So it no longer makes sense, statuswise, to try and rack up longish segments in the lower US (e.g., JFK-TUS) as opposed to, say, routes to the Caribbean (LAX to MBJ or BZE)? Sorry if this comes across as too BAEC-centric.
Besides, does booking a flight as a codeshare affect the YQ? Say, if I want to fly QR metal from DOH to LHR and onto LAX on AA, both flights under their BA codes, do I get to pay the BA YQ? Or does the answer depend solely on the plating carrier? (I may and will change things around a lot but so far my first overwater segment would be on AA so I'm inclined to book this with them).
Thanks in advance
