The little bottle of hand sanitizer they put in the Tumi amenity kits - seems like such a genius idea! Hand sanitizer is THE thing that I want to have on an airplane. It is invaluable. Exceedingly useful.

But...sadly....Delta ruined this wonderful gift by using some monstrous version of sanitizer that is scented (I'd argue, heavily scented) and has some kind of moisturizer in it, which completely defeats the purpose. Rubbing this on my hands does not make me feel clean, it has a sticky, lotion-ish consistency, and I bring my own Purell now on all flights even when ticketed in D1.

"But plain hand sanitizer dries my hands out!" -- Well then I would point you to the lovely tube of Kiehls grapefruit hand lotion, already in the same kit. Sanitize, then use lotion if needed.

"But I like the smell!" - then you are bonkers, because that smell is repulsive.

"You can't please everyone!" - true but I'm pretty sure a larger number of people would find the simple plain version of hand sanitizer more useful, or more usable, even with a lotion-after add-on, than the current version.

Agreed! I tried to use it on a flight recently, and it has this really bizarre and sticky consistency. It makes my hands all clammy and I wind up going to the lav to wash my hands.
