I had a flight cancelled from LBA to LHR recently. I was rebooked on the later flight but the ground staff were 50/50 whether that flight would end up being cancelled too. So I, along with two others, got to LHR by taxi. BA have kindly paid for this alternative transport but (perfectly reasonably) not refunded the ticket. Any chance of ORC as well?
Unfortunately I don't see that ORC would apply for a self re-routing in anticipation of a possible cancellation - I assume the later flight wasn't cancelled in the end?
Tbh I would be quite pleased and surprised to have had the taxi fare paid for, I am not sure I would have expected that.
