I hadn't thought about booking the GH until recently reading all the tremendous reviews for it. My wife and I (with our 3 kids - 11, 9, 2 and possibly my MIL) will be heading to Maui and Kauai in August. We'll be doing 8N in Maui and 5N in Kauai. Previously, I was thinking of booking something like Koloa Landing Resort (Poipu) or the Waipouli Beach Resort (Kapaa) via Chase UR portal. But now I'm really giving consideration to the GH. The original 2 would cost me about 180k UR and 125k UR for a pretty large suite/villa space.

I would consider booking 2 rooms for us at the GH using some combo of straight points or P&C (perhaps cost me 190k UR+$750). I have the cash and UR to book any of the options but wanted to get some thoughts here. Additionally, if I book 2 rooms, what are the chances of being upgraded to a suite if I reach out to the GM?

I figured the Koloa/Waipoli options would give us the creature comforts we need (space, washer/dryer, kitchen, etc.) whereas the GH would give us the resort luxury. Which trumps which?
