Indeed. The issue / question here is as follows:
If one upgrades the two sectors separately via Manage My Booking (because at the time of the upgrade of one section, no upgrade was available for the other one but it subsequently became available), one can contact the call centre and they will then ‘combine ‘ the two upgrades into a single one which costs fewer miles.
I (and with me several others) am curious to know if such a ‘combination of two upgrades’ is also possible with the ‘auto upgrade’ feature. I am 99.999% certain that this would not automatically happen (though I am always willing to be surprised, hence the 0,001%). But will the call centre be able to perform the same act of combining and refunding sone of the miles after two ‘auto upgrades’?
