It opens an interesting possibility of Italy being used to reduce cost of ex-DXB flights,if one wanted to fly to Sydney from DXB it might be cheaper to purchase MXP/FCO-DXB-SYD-DXB-MXP and skip the first leg, call EK, then skip the last leg
