One can do one presentation at a resort once a year and receive 15K MR points for listening.

There is some room for waggle in that you could do a tour at a different resort at another time and you could also get the points. I think that the official line is that this is discouraged to prevent folks from making the rounds for free points; but I'm not sure who makes the call on this one ( the individual resort or Marriott). I've met folks who have been both successful and unsuccessful in this regard depending upon their circumstance.

Marriott requires couples or individuals who can demonstrate a certain qualifying income to sit for a timeshare presentation. Certain states ( in other words, the state that you reside in ) may not permit Marriott to give MR points as an incentive. In these cases Marriott will give some sort of certificate, usually good for dinner or shopping etc.

Marriott also offers special presentations for folks to come down to a resort where they sit for a presentation and spend 2 to 3 nights at the resort. The incentive varies from resort to resort, but might provide free nights at the resort, or allow a deeply discounted preview stay in addition to other comps.

In general, the sales presentations are low key and are NOT high pressure ordeals. Anyone who is simply pondering the idea of timeshare might benefit from such a visit/presentation as the real value of such a visit is the opportunity to meet other owners who share the reals ins and outs of TS.

We are ourselves owners of multiple Marriott TS weeks, and we too always take our annual sales presentation to pick up 15K MR points. Unfortunately, we've sometimes also added additional TS weeks as a result .
