Then they should provide accurate record of damage prior to rental - pictures/videos etc - you know, the same way they seem to document after return. Provide before and after pics to justify the claims. It is not hard to make an SOP to have standardized walk through with pics before and after. At teh very least make a prominent sign advising ppl to document any minuscule damage and ensure that there is room and light to do so.

Instead they take advantage of unsuspecting and tired travelers unprepared for such adversarial interaction.

The fact that they send these claims way after the rental makes me fairly certain that the very same damage claim is being pushed on other clients as well.
