My wife and I stayed in a Executive Deluxe Cottage Suite last weekend and had a wonderful stay. Overall, we were very happy and will likely return. To simplify things, I'm just going to list some pros and cons of my stay and the hotel more generally.
Pros- Cozy lobby and rooms. Our suite had three fireplaces!
- Nice pool and hot tub. We didn't use this because our suite came with a private deck that had its own hot tub, but it looked very nice. The hot tub was massive, and could probably fit 20+ people.
- Comparatively reasonable rates. We also considered the Waldorf and St. Regis, but our amazing suite was $100-200 cheaper than standard rooms at either of those.
- Very good breakfast included in room rate for paid stays during high season (December 16-March 31). Also included for Gold/Plat elites on point stays.
- Excellent room service from Ruth's Chris (limited menu compared to restaurant).
- Free local transportation. The hotel has 2-3 SUVs and will drive you anywhere in the area if a vehicle and driver are available.
- Close to multiple bus stops on Park City's free bus system, in case a vehicle is not available or you don't want to take one.
- Free self/valet parking (technically included in $20 resort charge).
Cons (all minor, really)
- No ski access, but my wife and I weren't there to ski.
- Doors to individual cottage suites (our cottage had 4 suites on 2 floors) need some sort of soft-close feature installed. The children in the suite next door loudly slammed their door every single time...
- No elite recognition. We would have gotten free breakfast if we booked using points, but since we paid cash we didn't receive any benefits as Gold elite.
- Had to call the spa three times to try to schedule mani/pedis only to finally be told they couldn't fit us in. I understand that there might not be availability when I try to book simultaneous treatments for two people 30 hours in advance. I don't understand having to call back twice when they said they were going to call me.
