Went with neither path - had dropped an instrument and was on the CPU list as #1 - and died there. At T-24 there were two seats available. One disappeared between then and ~T-2 and then someone took the TOD and I was out of luck - and stuck in 21D on this red eye next to a guy in the 21E middle who bought into E+ and was neither slender nor a big sleeper.

Ah well.

Last point is that, of the 4 segments I was on this quick turn trip, I was eventually upgraded on 3 of the 4. This was the only one where no magic happened unfortunately.
