I have used the complimentary shuttles many times. Run me to dinner (and pickup), FedEx, etc. Sometimes, those runs are coordinated with the airport run. And sometimes, I've been told no, as airport service is the number one service during peak times. And I usually do tip a couple of dollars. It never hurts to ask.
