On a shorthaul 767 flight with usually low loads, I tested what happened if I do not confirm the allocated or "suggested" seat. I was allocated 12A when booking a week before the flight. At OLCI a few hours before the flight 12A was taken and I settled on 7A
That's what worried me (although 'worried' is too strong a word, really) as we'd been allocated good seats and my travelling companion is Blue so I didn't want us getting split up or being allocated middle seats.
