I REFUSE to call myself anything other than the old names. That being said, yes you are right, a Diamond->Globalist->Explorer now. They just said "you have access to the club" and put me on the club floor. I did book the reservation while I still had Globalist status, maybe that was it? I wouldn't say regular, but stayed there probably 5-6 times in the past year.

Yes, that's my understanding. You can't just show up and have the FDC take one of your Club certs.

Having status in other programs which provides guaranteed lounge access, the club awards have basically zero value to me (as does Explorist in general). To the extent I stay at any Hyatts in 2018, it will be very property specific and have nothing to do with Explorist.
IME, club rooms aren't any better. Just on the same floor (or +/- 1 floor) as the lounge.
