I have some AMEX points that I want to use for travel. In the past, I always just used Amex Travel to book with them and pay with AMEX points directly. It's not really a good deal, but I didn't know about any other options.

Someone suggested to me that converting AMEX points to Delta miles might be a better deal.

And it looks like currently, they offer to convert AMEX points directly to Delta SkyMiles at 1:1: ratio.

I need to order a round trip business ticket from Moscow to either New York or Atlanta or Miami, so I'll probably be using Aeroflot. (The other alternative is using some of the Western European airlines with connecting flights.)

Is it possible to convert AMEX points to Delta SkyMiles, and then use those SkyMiles to pay for Aeroflot tickets?


If yes, is there something I need to look out for? I've never used airline points ever before. If the flight is overbooked, do they downgrade or reschedule people who paid with points? Are there any restrictions or things that are good to know when using points?

I also have some Aeroflot points. Not a lot, maybe around 25k. Can I combine them with SkyMiles when ordering tickets on Aeroflot?
