I would love to be able to cut down to 20/day but, like you (and others who have posted on FT) I have no problem with flights -- even without any nicotine. My experience is the same as many of them -- once I get on the plane and realize it is impossible for me to have a smoke, it is simply out of my mind for most of the flight. I don't miss it at all -- until the last 30 minutes of the flight and then I am crawling up a wall. It does not matter if it is a short domestic flight which lasts under 30 minutes or a 12 hour flight TLV-JFK. Oddly enough, once I have landed on an international flight and face having to through Passport Control, get my checked luggage, and pass Customs I -- again -- do not miss smoking. However, after Customs and until I can get to a spot where I can light up, I crave a cigarette as much as I did during those last 30 minutes.
