I recently booked a transit itinerary in CAN (international-to-international, paid economy class), and successfully reserved my hotel online.
After booking the website told me the following:
You have successfully booked a Transit Hotel
Order No. GO9999999999999
Passengers who need transfer accommodation should apply to the transfer desk at the airport. The transfer desk would prepare the CZ Accommodation Voucher. The Accommodation Voucher is also the passenger’s ticket for shuttle bus to the hotel.
I then got the following confirmation email from CZ:
Dear passengers:
You have successfully reserved a transfer hotel. The order number is 2018999999999. Passenger name is DOE/JAMES, please check-in at New Century Hotel on Feb 31,2999. If you need to cancel or change your order, please visit our official website

Questions:
- One tells me to go to the transfer desk, the other implies I can go directly to the hotel. Is it my choice (transfer desk only if I want a free shuttle)? Or am I required to do the transfer desk before I can check-in?
- Any advice for how to return from the hotel (is there a free option as well?)
