Currently staying at the Grand Hyatt and am relatively content. No longer have any Hyatt status so brought a Club Room. Ultimately I'd describe the room as inoffensively nondescript. The actual size of the room isn't that small but it appears to be designed in a manner that makes a completely ineffective use of the space and feels more cramped than it should. Check in was efficient - met as the Taxi arrived and originally taken to the check in desk where a massive queue was formed - mentioned Club level booking and taken to check in at the lounge which was fast and efficient.

The public areas are certainly grand in that faded 1990's grandeur way. Lounge offerings are ok - breakfast is pretty weak but they have bircher muesli and a good selection of fruits so that is good enough to keep me happy. Physically the lounge is very pleasant with a lot of natural light from an almost atrium type setting for half of the lounge.

All in all no complaints and almost find it quite charming in a daggy way but it certainly is the type of hotel that in five years if someone asked me if I had stayed here I likely wouldn't remember if I had or not.

Originally came to Fukuoka for a three night sort of "taster" trip to see if it was worth a longer visit and find it be a great city and region and looking forward to coming back for a proper visit at some stage.
