I haven't booked an award with AS yet, but I have seen award bookings with some other airline where the purchase was credited to an office location of the airline, which happens to duplicate an airport you can fly to on that airline. But if you weren't reading carefully, you might assumed it was saying that it was a flight to that airport.

And that's why the exact phrasing matters.

And that's what PV_Premier was asking. Not whether you're flying to/from FLG, but if you what you meant by "a flight to the Grand Canyon" was a mention of FLG on the statement (given that credit card statements that mention flights generally use airport codes, not phrases like "the Grand Canyon").
First of all, my mistake, it was not my AS Visa card (I don't use it for airline tickets anymore - primarily because they offer no travel protection).

So it was a different credit card, and the award flight was broken down into 3 components:

Two were for the outbound: Alaskaair.com WA $11.20

From: Eugene to: Portland Carrier: AS Class: W
Dallas/Fort Worth AS Class: A
Miami International AA Class: U

The third one read: Alaska Airlines Alaska Air.com WA $50.00
From: Grand Canyon to: N/A Carrier: AS Class: Y
Ticket number, etc.

All 3 said Document type: Passenger Ticket

Honestly, I just thought it was funny, had no idea it was some sort of big deal? (also hope the lines don't get all scrumbled up when I hit submit)

And as you can see, the exact wording was "Grand Canyon" not Flagstaff airport or code
