I haven't booked an award with AS yet, but I have seen award bookings with some other airline where the purchase was credited to an office location of the airline, which happens to duplicate an airport you can fly to on that airline. But if you weren't reading carefully, you might assumed it was saying that it was a flight to that airport.
And that's why the
exact phrasing matters.
And that's what
PV_Premier was asking. Not whether you're flying to/from FLG, but if you what you meant by "a flight to the Grand Canyon" was a mention of FLG on the statement (given that credit card statements that mention flights generally use airport codes, not phrases like "the Grand Canyon").
