Makes no difference really, which ever is the most cost effective. You may get a relatively good value POUG offer on a cash fare if the extra CE TPs were of interest.

If you get back to LGW on time, you can save a bit of money if the trains are operating normally by using an Oyster / contactless and going by train (not Gatwick Express) and tube. It takes me about 1 hr 40 minutes, so if you have the time then you can do it for about £10.
