Yep, it's the same fare. Other than the website putting me in Y for the NRT-ITM leg there's no issues with that and it provides a 4 hour buffer between when the SYD flight gets in and when I depart for NRT. Thanks again.

Now just to figure out if I really want to do this, as just having the SYD-LAX flight in one day drove me crazy as I got bored toward the last 6 hours. Deplaning and then starting all over on a LAX-NRT flight. lol.
