Beware: Not All J bulkheads Are Equal On New A380.
5 of us have the chance to try new A380 2017 J in various different seats and here’s the accurate and unbiased input.
Almost all of the Window J bulkheads we have been on (referring mostly 11 A/K) have full leg space/ottoman. However, this new A380 has an inferior J overall. All window bulkheads do NOT offer full leg space. Exception Middle bulkheads (row 11, 91, 96DF). This is a huge discomfort for Long haul sleeping no matter if you are a side sleeper or straight. Also very uncomfortable for working and lounging as you are forced to position your entire body to fit your legs diagonally into footwell. Another negative is when your legs are in the cubby - your knees will keep bumping the seats in front of you.
Also in lounging position, when your body rest on the side where the seat panels are, you will accidentally press those buttons which can be annoying.
The only one good thing about this 2017 non enclosed J is its privacy.
To summarize and Not being the #firstworldproblem, being forced to sleep/lounge/work in an angled position is a no for a premium airline SQ J seats. Most people might find this uncomfortable Especially pregnant women and lower back issues peeps. Some would be fine or do not care. Would we fly SQ new A380 again? Only if we managed to snag middle bulkhead. Soft product such as inflight service can be a hit or miss so is then excluded in this discussion.
The only 6 acceptable seats on this plane are 11, 91, 96DF. Choose wisely. And these seats are usually blocked for elites.
This is a self expense trip. Not corporate travel and not sponsorship from SQ.
