Kimpton Palladian Seattle

Kimpton Palladian (Seattle, WA - USA)

There are four Kimptons in Seattle -- this is the one by the Moore Theater north of downtown.

What is your Priority Club status? SPIRE

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? YES

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? DELUXE KING upgraded to a KING SPA

How are the rooms?

I was upgraded to the top floor, but not sure of the difference from room category booked. Bathroom had both a bathtub, and a shower, water pressure okay, not great. Little room to spread out my stuff and I hadn't brought a lot. Had to request a coffeemaker at checkin (took about an hour to arrive). Bed was fine, room quiet and not excessive light through shutters. Outlets at both sides of bed, as well as lots at desk.

How was your complimentary welcome amenity?

Status recognized at checkin, upgrade apparently IS the amenity as all IHG members get an RTB offer?

Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take?

Applied the $10 towards a drink at the bar - checkin clerk emphasized it is NOT valid for restaurant charges (to room). If one does not drink alcohol, I suspect it's either a matter of getting snacks or soft drinks from the mini bar in the room, or else having small plates consumed as a patron in the bar itself?

Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? NA

Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? N/A

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD: The upgrade, along with recognition of status at desk. Nice of them to host a social hour with decent wine, or a whisky cocktail. Restaurant and bar staff very professional without being unctuous. Dinner was very good, with dessert being outstanding (as promised by the social hour host).

NOT SO GOOD: Social Hour area perhaps the size of a giant telephone booth, not busy that night, but in tourist season it'd be horrendous. There was no hot water that evening, which was rectified a bit later, though I felt the staff were quite defensive about the situation more than apologetic.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Maybe, although unlike my previous Kimpton visit at another location, I felt that IHG Elites here are more tolerated than treated as desired inner circle-light guests. Value wasn't bad given the RTB drink and social hour along with the upgrade.
