If you were already 800K miles into United, I'd say keep going. But it sounds like you have a choice and it's not too late to switch. If I were you, I'd go with Delta or Alaska. Forget about United. Lifetime Gold doesn't get you jack. You can get all of those LT gold benefits just by having the right credit card.
