We have a 110 Ridgeback. We’ve been fortunate to get permission to stay at many (but not all) hotels with lower weight limits. We just called and asked. We pointed out what other hotels our boy was been to with us as references. We pointed out that he is a champion and very well behaved and trained. We also pointed out that Ridgebacks as a breed don’t bark much, so there wasn’t much of any issue with noise with him. We also sometimes have offered to pay double the pet fee as an act of good faith, which could be refunded assuming no issues.

It doesn’t always work. But is often does! Most hotels have allowed us to come. Bernardus Lodge had a limit of 50 lbs...but now has no weight limit because of us! The StR San Francisco has a 35 lb limit, but we are frequent guests and finally brought him last Dec.. The SLS Beverly Hills has a 40 lb limit but finally allowed us to bring him last summer. The US Grant and Andaz WeHo have 40 lb limits but let him come. He’s also been to the Calistoga Ranch and Peninsula Beverly Hills with no limits. Post Ranch Inn won’t let him come...which is why we won’t stay there. Now that Ventana Inn is pet friendly, we don’t care about PRI.

Playing one hotel off against another can also help.
