It likely won't surprise you to learn that UA doesn't publish a fare from SYD to KIX. :-)

I wouldn't fly this itinerary starting from
LAX, let alone starting from SYD. I'd want closer to two hours at SFO. All it takes is a little bit of weather and you'll be watching the flight to KIX depart without you. (#1 on the upgrade list will thank you, however.

) Is there a 7 AM LAX-SFO flight that day?

If you arrive late at LAX, it would be at the agent's discretion. However, reports have consistently been that UA is reasonable about this, particularly when going between two UA flights. It's unlikely that they'd refuse to honor your ticket entirely. It's
possible they'd tell you that you couldn't fly until the next day, but I think LAX-NRT-KIX/ITM would likely be OK. If you arrive late at SFO, UA is obviously obligated to get you to OSA.
However, in both cases, you're assuming that there will be J inventory available.

Unless you absolutely have to arrive at KIX by 3 PM, I'd just fly via NRT and be done with it. Well, assuming that you have a need to fly by way of North America in the first place, anyway.
