So, I think I know what responses I'll get but I wanted to get some input.
SYD-LAX: Arrives 6AM if on time
LAX - SFO: Departs 8:19AM;
SFO - KIX: 58 minute connection at SFO; This is a once-daily flight from SFO to KIX.
I have Gloabal Entry, LAX passport control has never taken me more than 5-7 minutes. No checked bags, carry-on only. This arrive from SYD and depart to KIX would occur on a Tuesday.
Other than spending way too much time on airplanes that day, is this itin too risk prone? I can't seem to get the pricing to work out one one PNR so I will probably have to book the LAX-SYD-LAX on one ticket with LAX-KIX-TBD-LAX on another. As they will be on different PNRs (the LAX-KIX will be on Z fare), is this too risky? Am I setting myself up for missing the flight to SFO or the connection to KIX? Would UA be willing to rebook me since they're seperate PNRs (I assume this is up to the agent's discretion but I hope that being on a Z fare will encourage them to put me on other UA/ANA flights in business rather than bumping me down to economy).
My assumption is that my "connection" in LAX won't be the reason why I won't make this itin. But rather my connection in SFO? Thoughts?
