What happens in these situations? Presumably the HEL departures won't wait that long for the late incoming passengers, or are there too many of them to leave behind?And in some cases the next option is 24hrs away and already busy

depends where you are going exactly, but have you asked the CX lounge agents about rerouting on CX/JL direct Fromm LHR if you are going to miss your AY connection at HEL?
