Please do not do this. I've seen several 'articles' on face book on the lines of '378 airline secrets' that advocate this recently as a way of getting extra room and it is very unfair to other passengers by limiting their choice of seats
Don't assume anything about other people. You can ask and they can refuse. The crew can ask them to move but they can still refuse.
