Westjet in Canada is base don the Southwest model; and has been very successful in taking traffic from Air Canada. The two are often almost identical on price, but AC has been steadily losing market share of traffic partly because WJ has the reputation that when things go wrong, they will take care of you, and with AC it's tough luck, you're on your own. Those who are loyal to WJ are very loyal because they know it's a 2 way street.
