I am getting exactly the same error when trying to book a 6 segment multicity trip.
"Oops -Something went wrong

You can't book connecting flights as individual flight segments. Please change your flight search."

Booking multicity trips like this used to work perfectly well on AA.com but now you seem to consistently get this error.
