I did a luxe matress run a few weeks ago in Paris and the two hotels I chose were the Ritz and de Crillion. The Ritz I found to be a bit stuffy and the rooms very cozy (nice euphemism), but you can't beat the location. The bathroom was a bit on the small side, with a combination bath/shower which I don't care for. The hotel has a certain odor to it too.

The Hotel de Crillon was fantastic. The staff was top-notch and very friendly. The room was bigger than the one I had at the Ritz with a fantastic bathroom (yes, separate bath and shower - with the rainfall head).

The difference between the two rooms was 30 Euros a night. I was tempted to stay at the FSGV for a night or two, but at 250 Euros more a night, I passed. Even I have my limitations.
