The together account only shares award miles, not status miles. So it cannot be used to gain status faster. It can be used to collect the award miles of multiple people into one account, so that you can redeem an award flight faster.
Maybe I should rephrase the question.
In order to get the SIlver tier AND be able to have the Together account you have to collect some status miles.
Can you collect those status miles on other airlines (LO/LH)?
