Is it just going to be easier to use a pillowcase of a different colour?
A few questions and notes:
* As others already pointed out, vacuum packing machine may not get pass TSA. Even if it can get pass TSA, it may be stopped by securities elsewhere.
* Is the size of the vacuum packing machine smaller than your pillow? Otherwise, it may need to be softer than the pillow to make sense.
* Can the machine inside the carry-on be oversized?
* If on AC, make sure the power requirement is below the maximum the aircraft outlet can provide.
* If on AC and you need to use it in another country, make sure it can run on dual voltages (appliance may be single voltage) or you will need a large enough transformer. I am also not sure what voltage CX outlet is providing.
* How about bringing a thin pillow, which together with CX-supplied pillow, make a thick pillow?
