And may help maintenance. Maintenance/life is based on hours & cycles (take off & departures). Air NZ B787 would be high on hours and low on cycles. Years ago QF had B747's on the SYD - PER route for a period of time, that got more cycles so balanced the hours/cycles ratio.

But there does seem to be an ATR problem.

CHC gate 29 (and others?) can be used for domestic & international arrivals/departures. Just a matter of which internal doors are opened/closed.
JQ often use gate 29 as the same aircraft does NZ domestic & Au flights.
