I thought about my post again, after considering my years as a poor student having to pay exhorbitant out-of-state fees: before hiting ANYONE for anything they have earned, I'd sell my computer. Or my CD collection ( I actually did that to pay that last quarter of Ph.D. tuition), stop smoking, sell whatever else is laying around in the house. I'd sell lemonade. If all that fails, then I'd hit the board.

That's just me. However, we must keep in mind that the present circumstances might be quite different and might justify keeping a computer at home while asking others for help for a plane ticket. We don't know.
