The large airlines generally report in excess of 20,000,000 members each. Of course, many flyers are members of more than one program. The airlines will not report the number of elites (very frequent flyers) for "competitive" reasons. Estimates are that each major airline has about 40,000 - 50,000 highest-level members. As you can tell from FT, a number of our active members are top-level in more than one program!
