Sorry to bring back a 3 year old thread, but it applies to my situation. I remember calling Amex a few years ago resulting in some level of higher status with Hertz, and since then it does seem like I always get an upgraded car, but I don't see any 10% bonus on points earned for any of my rentals in the past year (I just looked at my account for the first time in over a year). I then pulled up my online membership card and it doesn't indicate any 5* status or similar, so I'm not sure if I have it still. Is this a benefit you need to call to get every year? I know I don't need to do that with National.
