How far back do we move the checks? 500 meters from the terminal? 500km from the terminal? To the border of the state? Maybe we should just scrap the 4th Amendment entirely and institute random, warrantless searches of people and places throughout the country. After all, if it saves even ONE life, isn't it worth giving up one of our most cherished rights? Personal privacy is not a thing anymore, anyway; that document was written in the 18th century, before social media and street cameras and x-ray scanners that can see inside a house from the street, it needs to be updated for the times.
Or maybe a TSA clerk can stand watch beside our bed and escort us directly to the airport under armed guard - after having watched us shower and dress to ensure no weapons are being carried. We're placed into a secure plastic bubble and transported in armored carriers to the airport. Perhaps we should each be drugged and loaded onto the plane unconscious to further avoid any risk.

(yes the above is sarcasm lest there be any doubt! Though I bet somewhere in TSA someone would like this stuff)
