My local, SBC i nthe bay area had a 20.00$ plan to add to my phone line, 15.00 a month, which is unlimited LD in the US. For interneational, I use onesuite.

vonage and others are 30-40$ for their unlimited LD, and you have to buy the box still. As well, if your DSL is out, then your phone is out.
